Builder Arthur F. McCarthy wanted to create a place that would take Staten Islanders on vacation without leaving the borough...
The result is Tiki Island, which transcends bar-goers into a South Beach, Miami-like atmosphere featuring tropical plants, 300-cubic yards of sand for sunbathing and games of volleyball, 90-feet of covered bar where a range of specialty drinks are served, tiki tables and VIP tiki huts for "bottle service."
"Our concept is that no one should walk through the Tiki Island gates without their jaw dropping. We want to make them feel like they've left Staten Island and are now on vacation," said McCarthy.
Upon entering the bar, patrons are greeted with a "Tiki" statue that doubles as a waterfall, setting the tropical Island-like ambiance for the day or evening in the expansive bar setting.

Grand Opening: Tiki Island comes to Staten Island, Where You Eat, July 15, 2013

It’s official, Staten Island has a Tiki Bar and the location is perfect – right on the marina overlooking the water, beautiful view in a resort style location in far end of Staten Island.  Tiki Island is located at 225 Ellis Street and is joined with the Port Atlantic Yacht Club (the dine in restaurant).  Tiki Island serves a special menu from the outdoor grill  which features a great selection of bar food.  Standards like burgers are cooked on the grill, Rib Eye sandwich, Grilled Kebabs, Jumbo Shrimp and Clams as well as oysters on the half shell are  found on the menu.

There are already so many reasons to love Staten Island, but if you've got more room in your heart for the borough, squeeze this tiki bar in. It's just so perfectly South Shore Staten Island.
